11岁的Hunter在西雅图参加了一周主题为三文鱼的特色夏令营,他详细描述了这五天夏令营的所见所闻。

This summer I went to Seattle for a summer camp. The camp’s name is called YMCA, I’m still not sure why it’s called that. But as soon as I got there, I found that everyone was so nice and soon I made a lot of friends. Let’s talk about this more in details. The first day I went to camp, I was pretty nervous because I was afraid that I wouldn’t make any friends there. When I got there by school bus, I found that our campsite was in woods and beside it there was a stream passing by. So I was pretty satisfied with the campsite. However, I had trouble in finding my group because it was said on my wristband “Coho” but our counselor was late so he was not there yet. Therefore I kept wandering with a confused mind. Luckily another counselor found me wandering and told me where to go. I finally found my group mates but somehow they seemed to know each other very well, so I was left in the corner and I felt lonely. But soon we went to an assembly deep in the woods where I met my first friend Calvin. Calvin is from China but he lives in USA with his parents. He was quite nice and really humorous. After the assembly we went to salmon dissection which was fun. We first dug out its eye, then cut through its body and pulled out its organs. The organs were soft and I had a lot of fun. The second and the third day was pretty much the same, we played gaga ball which basically you hit the ball with one hand inside a circle pit and try to knock people out. It was fun and some of us were professional. We also made soda boats and I was the first one who succeeded to let the boat move automatically (by soda) on water surface. Then we did some handworks and low ropes. The fourth day was slightly different. We played trial tag! Trial tag was a fun game which you get taggers and medics, the rest of us are runners (escaping), if you get caught, you need to freeze until someone who’s a medic comes to rescue and unfreeze you which simply tap you. I got into a trap but I’m a fast runner so I escaped, I had a lot of fun! The fifth day which was the last day was bye-bye assembly. We still played some other games but it was mostly goodbyes. I was a bit miserable but I got my group mates’ emails so we can keep contact.
